DESCRIPTION
In 1945, with the end of the Second World War, Gio Ponti committed himself to the conversion of war production to a civilian one, focusing on materials such as wood and fabric, combined with a strong artisan component. In 1947, Ponti designed a "bedroom for a bachelor", presented in Milan at the Galleria del Sagrato and at the Triennale, and subsequently at the XVI International Exhibition of Barcelona in 1948. Today, over 70 years after its original design, the D.847.1 console table has been reissued by Molteni&C as part of the Heritage Collection, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives. Despite a small stain on the inside of the drawers, which is not visible when closed, the console table maintains its original charm and elegance intact. Dimensions: H 78.5 cm, W 134 cm, D 40 cm.
